When the moon is full,
And the air is still,
And only clouds sleep,
Thoughts are left to fill,
The dreamless night.
The warmth of rest pull,
And cool pillows whisper,
Sweet promises they keep,
But the nagging grow crisper,
As darkness swaddles tight.
Your attempts are null,
Tossing and turning,
Letting vexation creep,
With questions yearning,
To be brought to light.
They come charging though dull,
Like a million times before,
Once bounding in their leap,
But now a haggard bore,
Losing their urgent might.
They will eventually lull,
As all ends come,
Never with defying peep,
And finally you grow numb,
As you take rewarding flight.
