Goodbye David Lynch

Rest in Paradise

By Josey PickeringPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I wrote this poem on a napkin at the very same Bob’s Big Boy David Lynch himself used to frequent.

Losing him today, I can’t find the right words to say goodbye…

So I thought that this was the right time to post this napkin homage to one of my heroes.

Plates clanking,

Lights flicker,

Did the ghosts of inspiration find you here?

I can hear the echoes of your aura

Bouncing off of my soul

Am I made from your rib?

Did you dream me up?

The hum of the diner is a soundtrack to my future.

Perhaps you’re penning it now.

Seven cups of coffee, extra sugar,

Extra illumination.

Brain stimuli.
