Good Morning, Summer
It’s going to be a lovely day

Good Morning, Summer
Morning stretches on golden toes,
through the open window it goes,
kissing the kettle, warming the floor.
slipping soft through open doors.
The garden stirs, the blackbird sings.
butterfly dozes on drowsy wings.
toast pops up with a scent so sweet.
bare feet patter with eager heat.
Coffee steam curls like rising cheer.
another hot spell drawing near.
but now it’s just the hush, the glow.
the quiet hum of skies that know.
Summer’s here — no need to race.
just lift your face to light and grace.
breathe it in, this golden start.
and carry it easy in your heart.
