Gone Boy

A poem about the future.

I do not want to see

A single one weeping for me

For I am gone, my friend

Each one of us will meet an end

The end is only the beginning

Look not to sadness, but birds singing

Crowds in theaters, excitement driving their faces

Look only for me in what were my favorite places

Opening your eyes each day

Don't ponder that I'm not there with something to say

I would have been up and in a rush

Working my brain into mush

Now, I have not died

Unless you laid down and cried

I'm not there tonight

But I'm watching as your light

Do not curl up and hide

For I am always by your side
