Golden

A poem on motherhood.

Golden is the color of your love’s key

It found a bolt unknown that opened me

Golden is that perpetual knowing inside

That consistently whispers we do not need to hide

Golden is that moment after 68 hours

When you entered this realm and revealed my powers

Golden is a feeling when I see your smile

Fully authentic, it’s not meant to beguile

Golden is nurturing an infinite trust

Accepting the cycle of waning to robust

Golden is your hair color ‘neath the sun’s rays

It stimulates a swell in me that stays

Golden is the moment when we join hands

To fight the machine and help it disband

Golden is the moment when together

We choose to raise each other instead of tether

Golden is the moment when we clear illusion

And create a culture of inclusion

Golden is sitting at our crowded table

When this dream becomes more than just a fable

Golden is the moment we feel complete

When moving to the sound of our own beat

Using pen as lantern, with curious gaze do I observe and witness. Humor blended with love, paramount for survival of this heart. Writings to share and release, to birth and make peace. Through vulnerability to the explicit, do I dare.
