A little girl

All on her own.

The ones who were

Supposed to teach

Her how to love

Had left her to

Her own devices.

.

A lonely god

Watching from afar.

He picked her up

And sewed her tight

Into her own

Thigh to keep her

Safe from the dark world.

.

It had worked for him.

He turned out just fine.

The only downside

That she would find

Would be the scars

Decorating her thigh.

.

The little needle

pricked her skin.

At least the stitches

would keep her soul in.

Her body walked around,

not feeling anything.

.

She would be born again

Once she had grown.

But for now she is trapped

In her own flesh and bone.

Now she wonders if, when she hatches,

She will still be alone.
