Go Cry About It

A Poem

They stalk across the leaderboard

With anger burning hot

Then type another bitter story

cry they never get a shot

šŸ’§

They dump their stories on the feed

Serial posting lines

Then throw a tantrum at the screen

When nobody aligns

šŸ’§

"No one reads my work," they whine

With heavy, salty tears,

While poisoning the community

With petty, jealous sneers

šŸ’§

They minimize every single win

The other writers proudly claim

Downplaying their hard-earned success

Because they didn't see their name

šŸ’§

They cannot find their own bright path

Or build a steady flame

So, they prefer to wreck the stage

And vomit up some blame

šŸ’§

"Oh, you were chosen by the AI Gods"

"Your writing isn't good"

"They chose you cuz you're in the clique"

"You shouldn't win, I should!"

šŸ’§

Go cry about it somewhere else

Go make up your own rules

Spewing venom degrading everyone else

makes you look like a huge tool

šŸ’§

Authors note:

I have seen so many comments from people who claim no one reads their work or that someone who won something, (leaderboard, top story, a challenge win) wasn't deserving. They say winners got lucky because AI chose them or their in a group and favored...

Frankly, I'm sick of it. I'm sick of seeing people bitch about "community" and how it's "broken" whilst bashing the community for supporting each other lol. How does that even work? Is the goal for the community to only support YOUR work? Would that make it fair?

There was a time I felt invisible on Vocal, I feel like everyone who writes here has felt that at one point or another, (if you haven't, awesome! I love that for you!) but if you don't clap when others win or blame some stupid conspiracy or some other bullshit, you will never get your turn to win.

Community is about uplifting others, even when you're not at the top. There have been many challeneges I've missed out on. I didn't understand the prompt correctly or my writing was ass. Specifically, my dialogue and punctuation... it was garbage. So, I worked on it. I didn't get bitter, I got better.

Well... that's not completely true. I got a little bitter... but then I realized my attitude was a problem. If I wasn't gonna clap for others, If I was gonna be a salty bitch, I didn't deserve to win.

Once I realized my attitude, (and my writing) were both problems... I tried harder to fix what I was doing wrong. I didn't slander winners and I didn't ignore or downplay other people's victories.

You want a healtheir community? Be the change you want to see instead of just griping about how everyone wins but you.

This piece isn't targeted towards any one person in particular, but if the shoe fits, and you want to be mad at me... do that. Be mad.
