You would never know tonight

That I almost hit myself today

Overcome with frustration and depression

I wanted to self harm as I have in the past

I felt the urge, but stopped myself

But I cried for hours today

I am walking through such befogged days

Grief for my Father

Worry for my Mother

Finances ruined by job loss and old debts

I thought how good it would be to be gone

No longer struggling with body and mind

But I pushed through

I sent another application out

And then I saw a friend had sent me a gift

To help me out at this midnight hour

And life felt a little more like living
