Give Me A Reason

Oh how I long to let go...

of everything‐

To put down my pen, and my pad,

to release my shoulders and let everything fall from my hands...

in hope that never will another demand be placed upon me again,

but even hope I wish not to have in my grasp...

I still remember those burns of past.

A rather dangerous desire I have, to desire nothing...

truly not a thing‐

To keep nothing held within my palms,

no longer myself together and neither these walls...

Not the mask on my face nor the sights that keep my eyes open,

for my heart has chosen to shout what my lips decided to keep unspoken...

as the day this Burning Paradise finally burns out I can no longer believe in.

I've fallen for the face of Apathy...

and the touch of numbness has become so, so tempting‐

To at last, let everything go and go astray,

or rather, be blown away...

Taken with the wind, and simply carried through the rest of my days,

that tomorrow may carry on without me, and the day after, and all to follow...

as I'd like to turn in now, what little time I have left to borrow.

To drop everything from my arms and all else which I grip,

that the last of my blood may spill at once...

Might I close my eyes that I may no longer stare into the pool at my feet that is this shade of red?

that even if the bleeding of this heart doesn't come to its end...

my eyes might no longer be plagued with the sight of its drip.
