Give Me a Moment
Give me a moment
to look at your face
gaze into your eyes
and smile
Give me a moment
to hold your hand tightly
before you slip away
into the night
Give me a moment
to relive all our days
and the joy we’ve shared
before I must let go
But I cannot have
even this small time
since you fell ill
and we are now apart
This brief moment—
all the time in the world
and all the time I need
to say I love you
