
“Life doesn’t always give second chances —
but you can always give yourself one.”
You and I deserve that second chance!
We can show the whole world
that we have control of our own lives
by giving ourselves that ‘second chance.’
Helen Keller lost her sight and hearing
but never gave up,
eventually going to university
and
becoming a renowned author and activist.
How difficult this must have been,
especially as she was born in 1880
and went to her first ‘school’ in 1888.
There wasn’t the help then
that we possibly take for granted today.
Helen did not give up
but
gave herself that second chance,
and
became the first deaf / blind person
to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She set the bar high
for us to follow
to always give ourselves
another chance in life.
