We would tread carefully on the bridge of our future
Making sure it was stable
As a young Girl Scout
I would love to sing the Friendship Song:
“Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver; the other is gold.
A circle is round; it has no end.
That’s how long I will be your friend.”
I remember it when I was a fresh daisy who was used to being fed sunshine and rain
But now I see the sun, it’s dark spots pervading my soul
The deepest red you can find
So boiling and so reckless
Not even the freshest spring can overcome it.
You played me like a fool
And dumped me to the curb
You and I had a Girl Scout connection
I thought you knew that too without words
That no matter what, we’d stay true
But you gave me a burn
A certified Girl Scout burn

I'm so sorry. I never knew how to hold on.
This was a sad one, but authentic and well -written Melissa! 👍☹️
This broke my heart so much. I think most of us have experienced this. We would have thought we had such a deep connection with someone, only for them to prove us wrong. Sending you lots of love and hugs Merly! 🥺❤️
