Girl

Tree

By Brittany SmithPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Her roots dug loosely in the ground,

Her heart is lost and can’t be found,

Her branches sway within,

Time is healing once again,

The leaves; they blow slow when she exhales,

Covering her trunk as they trail,

Used for shade in the heat,

And shelter when you can’t feel your feet,

Always there standing tall and strong,

So why does it all still feel so wrong?

Her roots dug loosely in the ground,

Reaching until she can be found.
