you are not dead
You’re just a ghost
A living ghost stuck in the past forever with the future full of glory and glittering smoke
You’re not dead
But why do you make others try to feel so alone? When was the transition of tragedy imposed on
The ones that cling to your shadowy frame?
Why are you dragging behind the curtain and screaming in public about scenes we can’t understand?
Why is this kindling drowning in burning sand, as you layer our dank landscape with
Dead skin that cries for a fresh body?
Cells are a part of your skin
But also what you create
You should know that others can feel things differently and trust in logic and reasoning
And ghosts can also apply
Elbow grease to their creaking fixtures and mature.

I do not know why, & at the age of 64 I seriously have to wonder whether I will ever figure out why I am the way I am (or others are as they are).
I know somebody like this. It is so sad 💙Anneliese
Dead skin that cries for a fresh body. I loved that line so much! Your poem was so intense and emotional! I freaking loved it!
This piece seems to explore a sense of isolation and confusion. The imagery of being a living ghost stuck in the past is haunting and poignant.
This is so many layered and fraught with emotions, human tragedy, life, death, dying light of ones emotions, hope, upliftment and so much more. I expected real life/death ghosts and found so much more. I love ghosts.

Feeling the upheaval, emotion, heartfelt questions! Dementia ghosts or ghost of their former self? Love this line, "You should know that others can feel things differently and trust in logic and reasoning."
I like this a lot! I’m curious about the hidden meaning though, because it seems to be about more then a ghost (ghosts?) is there a hidden meaning? Either way, very well written! I enjoyed!
