Last night, I let my imagination roam,

to grow, expand, expound, explore.

Surrounded by strangers I'll never meet,

never touch, never know.

Yet, a bond is formed.

A connection of disconnected company.

A crowd of the lonely, the discontented.

A band of beautiful, breakable hearts,

treading in a sea of moblike monsters.

Searching for transparency.

Unity.

Tangible to touch and hold,

something real, something seen.

Am I seen?

More clearly in the dark, than the light.

We stand, together, just apart,

a separation, of opposition needing validation.

Amid quiet chaos, we rage.

Silence holds my tongue,

just as I have found the words.

Answers to the questions never asked.

Avoiding tension, held in submission,

to the way it has always been.

Generational ghosts haunt.

Sunrise, sunset, morning noon and night,

fighting demons of the past, casting

darkened shadows in the light of change.

Longing for kisses that bring rest,

like a mother bringing comfort to her child.

An anthem to bring release.

A song of serenity.

A lullaby of peace.
