gasoline
dripping from my teeth

The trail of gasoline,
Retreating behind me as I
Contemplate the blaze
I will set.
In a lack of remorse, or
Perhaps
a surplus of it,
I do not look back.
A car wreck is only as
Fatal as the people you find.
In another life, lets only meet
When the sun shines, or when
The bus is on time, or
When I can smile without baring
My teeth.
The match was lit before you closed
The passenger side door.
I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.
But thank you, nonetheless, as the
fire of finality warms me
While I feel your eyes on my back.
