Full Moon Delusions
By FRANK? Piccolella
A Fully formed Moon off into the distance,
The ebb and flow of tidal thought patterns.
Full moon on the brain.
Sleep comes early this year,
With little to no resistance.
Sleep has arrived after one hundred sheep,
Counting with no fear.
Denizens of my slumber speak in vomit rainbow,
As the game show buzzer rings true.
Liqour bottles fall off of tree branches,
Breaking with enthusiastic temptation.
No drinks for me,
But my brain wants to fight in an alley.
The sounds of purple elephants trumpet through
My brain waves as the REM kicks into overdrive.
The heavenly buzz of Bacon insects carousing.
As the dogs pass by,
Frasier is seen in the face of every K-9.
I walk by Prince Harry,
His eyes replaced by pinwheel candy.
The green ooze slow dripping out of his ears,
It fills up buckets of green slime.
The pinks and purples glow so vividly,
They surround the tree trunk stemmed with a brain.
The faint sound of the checkout machine at the store,
And cutting the same lime over and over.
All of the neon dinosaurs scatter at the sight of a new Iphone.
Mambo number 5 plays in a loop,
Over and over and over again.
Quick glitch to the system,
The tone of the soul.
Trapped on this mental train,
With full on,
Full moon delusions.
