Frozen Time

A Children's story about grief

By Orion OrenPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

There once was a boy. Or maybe a girl. Who lived in a house or maybe a pail. Who could laugh and run or maybe cry and lay. But either way they were human all the way

And like all humans. Around sometime. They would feel grief and loss and pain. And so sadness. they felt all the time in the world. Like it had frozen still.

All the colors turned to gray. All the smiles started to fade

As time felt like it started to be stale

And so in grief soaked they laid on their bed. Crying and feeling all those awful feelings.

Until one day...

They had heard a speech and it went perhaps a little likes this

“O’ death it may cause our tears to cry. O’ the pain we feel but I give you grievers and mourners this little bit of relief. Death is just a stop to time’s ever rotting decay. For only when we forget do they truly fade away. Until that day. When memories fade from age. Your dearly departed will still be there until that day.”

Oh what a most wonderful day.

So they set out to never forget and to never let go. Giving color and life to the smiles they once known.

For even in death do people still matter.

For until the day we forget do they truly leave our ever tearful side.

Oh what a wonderful meaning to a dreary day.
