From Surviving

From Thoughts To Poetry

There is no merit in objects

I hope you need not such things

With nothing but survival

The birds still sing

There is a different joy in learning to live

Such happiness comes not from a single material thing

Hold still this sunshine

Hold still this smile

May it be frozen upon my face

The nightmares of old still trail behind

Watching

Waiting for me to fall

But the sword that is my heart remains sharp

And as long as it’s glorious song plays

I will never again fall to such dark days

Through the perils of time

One thing will always remain

Survival

The basics of all living things

No matter what evil falls upon us

There will always be a certain joy that no one can take

In the darkness

There will always be light

A ray of warmth that comes from just being alive

From having a chance to move forward

From surviving one more time
