How does one defy such wonder

Giving in to the urges to lay waste

Have we not learned after millennia of plunder

And rushing all through life with such blind haste

Is there not a better way to approach the day

With something less dark weighing your heart

Remembering it's not too late for you to say

You were wrong about that last part

From within it comes and takes us without us knowing

Deep beneath the surface where it lies

It has always been there, but never before showing

The world's its target when it begins to rise

From beneath you it devours

Taking you on a wild ride

But leaving the best of you behind with its powers

As your innocence tells you to run and hide

Is there not another way for you to say what you mean

Than for you to issue such evil edicts upon them all

The effects of your words, you have not seen

As more of them await the big fall
