Friends

Do you know what it’s like to be alone,

Alone without a friend?

When you think your loneliness in life,

Is never going to end.

You might need someone to talk to,

For just a little while,

To hear a reassuring voice,

To see a friendly smile.

It’s hard to walk that road alone.

It often seems so far.

But a friend can smoothen out the path,

So thank that lucky star.

Good friends are hard to come by.

They are people you can trust.

They will gladly keep your secrets,

When to keep them is a must.

They’ll calm you when you’re nervous,

Or help you when you’re down.

They’ll praise you when you’ve excelled,

And when you’re bad – a little frown.

A friend will show these qualities,

And show them honestly.

One who cares, and’s always there,

Is just alright by me.
