A poem about release

Driving with the windows down

releases so much pent up emotion.

The world seems to fade away

as the wind whips across my skin.

My foot becomes heavy,

sinking onto the petal below it.

Faster,

faster, I go.

More wind.

More air.

Fresh air creates a fresh mind–

my thoughts slip away.

As I move throughout the night,

I leave my troubles behind.

I cannot bear to keep them,

as they only drag me down.

So down go the windows,

and in comes the air.

Faster.

More air.

Fresh air.

Fresh mind.
