Freezing Frost
Before the sun awakes,
frost crowns the sleeping fields in silver,
each blade of grass armoured for the dawn.
Windows bloom with icy flowers,
petals carved by silent hours
no eye was there to see.
I walk across the brittle morning,
each step crisp with quiet pride,
and watch my breath rise like pale smoke,
vanishing into waking air.
Frost is delicate,
but it owns the world for a moment,
a kingdom of quiet sparkle
that melts before applause can come.
There is beauty in such brief reign,
in shining while you can,
knowing the sun waits with warm intentions.
If I must fade,
let me shine first,
like frost at dawn,
bright enough to greet the day
before I disappear.
Saying goodbye to Autumn, hello to winter Frost.
