FREEDOM FIGHTERS of WW II

By: Jonathan Hinternish

One took a bullet.

Another took a shell.

Many more went over seas and spent their time in Hell.

Explosions from all around, and the sound of exploding gunfire was all that could be found.

They marched day and night.

They kept watch in Fox Holes until the morning’s light.

They fought Japanese, and German Nazi’s too!

Some came home alive.

While many others paid their dues.

The world would not be the way that it is today if it were not for men like these.

United States soldiers’.

Proud to serve.

And happy to be free!

They didn’t do it for themselves only.

They did their duty for you, and me!
