The sun pours down on them as the wind blows, music filling the bright blue skies.

Finally, they were free at last.

No more oppressive leaders from a foreign land, no one taking their resources or silencing them when someone defied them.

The people smile, throwing flowers into the air.

Parents watch as their children play in the grass, giggling and creating their own realities.

Lovers can openly share their feeling without the fear of punishment, their families supporting the love they feel.

The celebration feels endless, not unlike their captivity.

Food is brought out, and folks sing out their joy and hope, inspiring others to dance.

The sun begins to fall, brilliant colors streaking the sky before stars take their place.

Fires crackle as the people gather around them for warmth, telling stories of times passed.

Ashes blow into the winds, taking the smell of firewood along for the ride.

This land will forever remember the sorrows and celebrations of the people it nurtures.
