Freedom

Freedom, Broken

By Jack WippellPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Heart and Home, House and hell,

That cries cruel solitude with one callous bell

And resounds through the walls crumbling and torn,

Save the echo which is pure;

Life’s echo, your echo,

Resonance of a painful time and the peace that it brought you,

That gun.

That fucking gun

That shot through the house without a care or doubt

And lit up the night for all the neighbours to see.

They were shocked at first,

Then they mocked us,

Mocked me.

My case was lost in the midst of their bigotry.

It was not me, nor her, that brought the gun up and pulled the trigger,

that held her hand and squeezed her finger.

Legality sourced illegal acts.

Her freedom caused oppression.

Liberal America pulled the trigger.
