If you want to understand me, you must first understand this...

I write because silence tried to name me first.
Filed me under “broken”.
Under “other”.
Under expendable margin note.
But the page—
the page never flinched.
Each sentence begins as an ember.
A nerve-end glowing under ash.
I blow once—
thought becomes flame.
Ink is how I jailbreak memory.
How I outlive the rooms that tried to erase me.
How I answer every closed door
with a window made of verbs.
They called it obsession—
this god-complex of creation—
but what is a god if not
a voice that says let there be
and refuses negotiation?
I said let there be meaning—
and the paragraph stood up breathing.
My metaphors wear kente and midnight.
My rhythm drums older than borders.
My vowels remember ships, salt, psalms, resistance.
I am not writing poems—
I am reopening archives inside the bloodstream.
Trauma tried to colonize the tongue.
I decolonized it with cadence.
Every line is a match struck
on the wall of exclusion.
Every stanza a controlled burn.
Release is not escape—
it is design.
I am strongest where I confess.
Most dangerous where I imagine.
Most free where I author myself
without permission.
If thought is fire,
then writing is oxygen—
and I refuse
to suffocate quietly.
