What reassuring resolution does your troubled heart seek?
Rightly it has been said, true freedom isn’t truly free.
Free heart, what words does your tortured soul speak?
You follow your convictions even when you feel weak,
Striving towards an end for which there is no guarantee.
Brave soul, what does your heart cling to in times so bleak?
Where does your heart dwell, for whom does it shriek?
Perhaps, someday, you’ll find the freedom which you foresee.
Free heart, what words does your tortured soul speak?
What entreaties does your heart make, and your soul speak -
Faint hopes of peaceful times, like the calm of a placid sea?
Brave soul, what does your heart cling to in times so bleak?

And yet, I understand on the day when suffering reaches a peak,
You’ll remain steadfast and refuse to turn or flee.
