I know you and I are over

But why do memories of you

Keep coming back

And bring tears to my eyes?

Even if it’s been so long ago

You were here with me

The feeling of being in your embrace

Lingers around somewhere in me

I try so hard to erase it

I scream, yell at myself

To let you go

My heart needs to rest

I can’t keep holding onto you

And my mind needs to forget

What we had together

But the fragments of the pieces

That you left in my heart

Are slowly coming back together

Making me yearn for you

Once again.
