Fragile, Broken

Somewhere between trauma and healing...

My mind and body fragile, broken

by hands once loved… then violence.

Through pain and grief, I’m born again.

*

To heal, I turn to paper, pen,

sharing thoughts immense,

my mind and body fragile, broken.

*

I didn’t see the way out then,

not in fog so dense.

Through pain and grief, I’m born again.

*

Harsh words, forever spoken…

my thoughts have no defense—

my mind and body fragile, broken.

*

I was not a lover, but a token.

I’ve made peace and sought no recompense.

Through pain and grief, I’m born again.

*

Just as strong, I’ve ever been

but with trauma intense,

my mind and body fragile, broken.

Through pain and grief, I’m born again.
