Fractured Dreams

The Pieces We Leave Behind

By Ahmet Kıvanç DemirkıranPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read
A dreamscape breaking apart, reflecting the echoes of a forgotten self.

I wake in fragments, scattered wide,

Shards of dreams I cannot hide.

Silver whispers, golden lies,

A past that sleeps behind my eyes.

The moon still hums in shattered prose,

A melody that no one knows.

Footsteps on a frozen lake,

Memories that start to break.

I held the stars, they slipped away,

Like echoes lost inside the grey.

A thousand words I left unsaid,

Now sing inside my weary head.

If time were kind, would I be whole?

Or just reflections in a bowl?

Water ripples, glass refracts,

A self that bends but never cracks.

Tell me, if I fade tonight,

Will the dawn still bring me light?

Or will I wake in fractured dreams,

A life undone by silent screams?
