fox

empathy.

I am a fox with a thing inside

That is vengeful

And wants to kill me.

Empathy.

No news on how to cope or change

No light behind metal bars.

Funny how tears are forced by fighting yourself

Until one side wins.

The black or the white, tainted greys

It's the snakeskins that make me colourblind again.

At least I can still see out loud?

Can't get mad when they turn their backs

It's the right feeling now, to suffocate.

Watching the tension rising as they lay their traps, again.

I guess they learnt from me, so let it be. Let it be.

My mind my mind my mind my mind

Is mean.

My heart my heart my heart my heart

Is bitter.

How how how how how how how

Do I make myself change?

Rhythmic questions such as the heartbeat, continuous regardless

Of outside situations

The definition of selfishness, when one heart beats and another stutters

Unfair, unfair, unfair, unfair.

Here we go again

The fox's guilt has arrived

And the human excuse of not knowing better

Is stripped back to show the snakeskins spun with spider webs of bitterness.

The insanity of my mind,

The wrestled doubt is a festering wound

I don't know where I got it from, this feeling.

The stuck-in-the-mud reminder of my only punishment

20 lashes of tears,

Let the isolation continue; the only way, the only way.

The rusty old anchor barely heavy now,

I add weights to it just to make sure it works again.

It shouldn't be like this -

The empathy rotting into guilt

Spreading itself into my eyes, words, fears.

Until I promise, empty,

Change, change, change.

But only for fear of the fading light,

The left-behind photographs

The dates come and gone.

idontwanttofeellikethateveragain.

And so the prophecy continues.
