Fox's choice

To start again

Clean the slate

Or wreak mayhem.

I'll look through creaks

And cracks and pain

To find it in my heart

To change.

Upon the path placed choices two

One leads left

The other through

The fog that suffocates, strips raw and bare

All the things we'll never share.

I've walked the path a dozen times

Each step burdened by fading light.

Yet the beauty of the higher view

And the lightness I feel while breathing deep

Makes me follow through.

Kindness I will show again;

Rip out stitches and free the lamb.

Change can't come if we don't start-

The choice to be better is the hardest part.

The strongest thing the fox has done

Is made the choice to accept the wrongs

That fastened the padlocks around its heart

The locked-in smoke all consuming

While the fox ignored it's wounds, still bleeding.

There's beauty in the broken things

There's tenderness in the birds who sing.

The world is going to keep moving, regardless

Of the pain that is carried over our heads.

I prefer to dance in the rain.

And I'll open up the umbrella if it means we're healed

.

I will not hide, and nor will the fox.
