Onward to the ending

All that one can do

Forget all that we have learned

All things are eventually through

Forgive the solemn ones their misdeeds

Quiet and solemn

Those poor and unfulfilled souls

To walk that way, something one may not understand

Breathing, alive, but hollowed from within

Forgive the solemn ones their approach to this world

For they know not the things held by such precious few

They've only known how to respond to things you fear

Walking along this lonely road where they've lost faith

Waiting for their final page to turn on the past

Forgive them, for they know not how else to be

In a world of togetherness, they are the ones to watch from afar

Their subtle grumbling as they ache from the soul to the flesh

Far too many things they have encountered had to have gone wrong

Yet they quietly push on, only knowing how to proceed forward

Forgive them, for their minds dwell in a bygone time

They are the already gone with nothing left in front of them to fear

Long past are the days they clearly remembered the peace you may know

Inner voices tell them only the instinct of what is well known

Get up, keep going, and make it rare your feelings be shown

Forgive them for listening to the demons, for you're too blind to see them

Deep into the heart of their darkest hours

In the place where the heart of man erodes

They found what none other could in their worst

For that place where even the brightest joy sours

That is where they were forced to find home; forgive them for it's not their folly

Some were dragged into the bowels of insidiousness's dark place

Never to be truly rescued, they were always one foot in the abyss

Surrounded by the darkness of the rest of the world so vile

They stepped knowingly onto that horrid field and tried not to miss

But for their efforts, they carried the unforgivable within; thus, it's up to thee

Forgive them, for they shall not ask

Not even as it burns away their humanity

For it was all in the moments they were needed to make those dreaded calls

When to all others, it would have cost their sanity

Forgive them, for they may not themselves
