Forgiven

Growing Up

By Miranda BrewerPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

I am strong.

I don't mean lift a hundred pounds strong,

I mean I have picked up my own shattered pieces and put myself back together strong.

I mean I have looked my wrecker in the eyes and said I love you.

Because I do.

Though it might seem weak to someone who doesn't understand,

who's never known that kind of strength,

They might misconstrue it.

But if I could show them the beams that made my life

and the beams that collapsed it, they might forgive the builder.

Because we are all apprentices once and expertise is both a combination of time and experiences.
