I have sinned again.

a cocktail of repentance

diuretics for the sin of too much sodium

laxatives for the sin of too much food

trazedone for the sin of being awake long enough to sin

and my ankles swell

my face bloats

my fingers cramp around my phone

I read yesterday’s vows like the gospel

“Today is the last time”

but every night that I breathe

I end up on my knees

“Forgive me father, for I have sinned”

again.
