Dear Infant Self,
Mama was young,
She didn’t know
what letting go
would lead to.
Sepia carvings
tell the story.
Your body art
is your identity.
Past Self suffered,
blended with shadows
and undefined shades of
self-deception,
Damaged.
Present Self
is stepping into the light,
reclaiming the child
who blamed herself
for being
Scarred.
Circumstance is an illusion.
Irrelevant.
Spirit’s journey
is our united walk
along the path of
Forgiveness.
Past, Present, and Always.
Self Love.
