Forgive and Forget

9/22/09

This feeling is not sadness,

This feeling is not joy,

I can’t really tell,

What the hell it is.

You ask me for an answer,

That I cannot give,

Yet you continue to pursue,

Hoping for a breakthrough.

I can’t tell you,

What you want to hear,

I can’t tell you,

The truth.

It’s so scary, I hardly understand.

This life of mine,

Doesn’t seem in my control.

Yet I have to live with it.

A life spent believing something,

Something false,

Yet I try to make it true.

My own little secret.

I shall not keep it forever.

I shall not tell it soon.

I shall not let you know,

Else I look like a fool.

A fool with such,

Childish thoughts,

Cannot, should not,

Be allowed to live.

These thoughts of adventure,

These thoughts of greatness.

How can I blind myself so,

Yet see so clearly.

See that it all,

It all just ends.

We can’t change it,

It’s gonna happen.

So why can’t I live and let live,

Why can’t I live and let die.

Why oh why, can’t I forgive and forget.

Why am I not afraid to die?
