Forever

Reflections

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Not sure of what she had become

Tired of fighting the urge to change

She gave in

To the thoughts

To the doubts

To the lack of second chances (or hundredths)

She was determined to find solace in whatever was to be

Whoever she needed to be

No matter the cost

No comfort

No applause

No audience

She would learn to be content with her own opinion

(once she learned what that was)

She vowed never to wince at the reflection she cast in the mirror, ever again

Whatever was to be, was what she had forged from her experiences

and there HAD to be beauty in that

Whoever emerged from the shadows of her pain

she promised, to love her

forever

Yes really love yourself because if you do not like yourself who will.

  • Yes, Kelli, the face you see in the mirror is infinitely worth loving.
