Forest Bathing

For wellbeing

You must have heard

of Shinrin-yoku —

the Japanese philosophy

of forest bathing.

It says our wellbeing

needs ample nature.

So, seek woodland

to find serenity, spirituality

to diminish stress,

to feel fresh.

If you don’t find

a forest or grove,

a single tree

can still soothe

and comfort you.

Sit under the tree,

marvel at its resilience,

appreciate how it nurtures

other creatures.

Hug a tree,

let its goodness envelop you.

No need to pop

those mental health pills.

It may be difficult

to find a grove

in today's concrete jungles —

but not a tree, I’m sure.

So, seek a tree

and achieve tranquility

in a chaotic world.
