Forbidden Fruit

a yearning for a lover who spits you out like a seed.

Top Story - May 2024

Forever suspended while you dance on my lips.

Opening our mouths

Removing the stem.

Begging to be consumed, crafted into a knot.

Infinitely spit out like a trick

Desire fades

Deception seeps in.

Enviable of their distance

Naïve to unspoken intentions.

muddled, we search for our cherry in a sea of Fantasy

one swoop the wind picked up everything in it's path. the little worms that creep from the soil after it rains, the stranger who kicks their feet with childlike innocence. the quirky, horrific, intoxicating moments of life dance in my mind

Love the creativity in this Olivia, and the references to a cherry threaded throughout. “Begging to be consumed, crafted into a knot.” is a great line 👏🏾

Congratulations on Top Story! 🥳 I've never seen an acrostic created like this and I love it. Might have to lean into that formatting myself! Loved your poem. Powerful twists and turned.
