Foolish Fern

Poetry

By Michael SmithPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

Don't let life cut down your tree.

You were born to live,

you were born to be.

Spread out those leaves,

even shed as you feel,

they are but for a season

only you are what's real.

Of one thing I'm certain,

and I know that it's True;

Everyone around, is as guilty as you.

let not their pointing or whispers or lies

bring forth your sadness, or fears or cries.

As winter approaches and the air becomes cool,

shed like the oak, for the fern is a fool.
