open wide / said the deadly

the sun in me / sputters like a flame / drowning in midnight wax / flicking your eyes away with an inward breath / staccato / does my ultraviolet burn

you run there / struck / distracted by an aptly placed defense / I sit here / masked / held by diasporas of golden rockets / a lineage of bruised skin restitched blind-handed

these violent beautiful parts rumble / awaiting the wise ones with crystalline hearts / to dance me across the mirrors of my placid lakes / catching a glimpse of the inward bound / be swift you swift thing

because seeing me rightly is a magic trick / prismatic / told in a language of spectrums / deciphered by one glass held to one eye / here, I’ll whisper you rainbow / a radiant unraveling / bleeding unto a seamless mythic / "the faun who is purpler-than-purple”

surreal poetry
