A Battle Worth Fighting

Learning, in time, who sent you, did not change how I feel. I Love You anyway, as I always have and always will. Sorrow may be our lot today, but tomorrow—the long tomorrow—brings endless opportunity to rejoice in uniting. And when that day comes, I hope you realize that love is a battle worth fighting.

Who are “they”? You either know or you don’t. If you do know, you can tell, but no one will believe you anyway. If you are of them, you will be just the sort of person to say: yes, yes, I know what you mean, but who are “they”?

We may respect each other as savage animals between whom distance must be kept but who nevertheless join forces when called upon by fate. Is it time? Or is it too late?

Splinter Beneath the Nail

How does something so small

And seemingly insignificant

Work its way beneath the skin

And cause so much pain?

Dig it out! Don’t squall!

Or it won’t be long

Before infection sets in,

The working man’s bane!

They said:

If you don’t heal

What hurt you

You’ll bleed

On those

Who didn’t cut you.

But the ones who cut me

Never stick around

To help me heal

So how can I trust

Anyone who can’t stand

The sight of a little blood?

After all,

I took the blade

For you and you alone.

Now my scars

Are a testament

To your weak stomach.

But you’ll soon know

What it means

To bite off

More than you can chew.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
