Fleeting Moments

A moment here, a moment gone

A moment here, a moment gone,

In the blink, in the yawn.

We grasp at time, we clutch, we hold,

Yet it slips like grains of gold.

The child’s laugh, the elder’s sigh,

All are whispers, passing by.

We chase the sun, we chase the moon,

But all is lost too soon, too soon.

Yet in these fleeting, fragile hours,

Lie the seeds of future flowers.

For life is but a breath, a sigh,

A fleeting glimpse before goodbye.
