In the arms of my mom cheesin’!
Revisiting
Memories of my first home once,
Not suppressed,
But no longer prominent
Within my hippocampus,
Bring me sepia summers
Of bare feet,
Sprinting down the concrete,
With gum balls for eyes,
After trucks playing tunes
Made of ice cream,
We were goofing
Under cotton candy clouds
Pasted in blue skies,
And we fall back in the grass,
Tanned skin in contrast
With cartoon bandaids
Placed by Dad,
The taste of water from the hose,
In mouths stained in sticky neon,
Safely tucked away
In our popsicle stick dream house,
Until we are called in for dinner
By Mom
The luckiest two
In full flavored
Moments of love
