Flaming Branches of the Ozimanda Tree

You won't be burnt by the flaming branches of the ozimanda tree.

Can you hear the calling through the woodland maze?

The original sound leaves but the echo stays.

You follow it through winding trails.

Into your heart it deeply impales.

Those flaming branches of the ozimanda tree.

See the light flickering upon the leaves of copper and gold.

Hear the fire crackling as the energy of it takes hold.

Mesmerising it will become if you wait too long.

Hypnotised by the show it presents so strong.

Over the flaming branches of the ozimanda tree.

The wood is blackened but undecayed.

Not a single splinter is burnt away.

No singes are found on any of the others.

Almost protective of them like a mother.

By the flaming branches of the ozimanda tree.

If you struck the bark it will reluctunly bleed.

A silvery sap ozing exposing the seed.

This is the tears of mother nature.

She is hurt if you hate her.

But you won't be burnt by the flaming branches of the ozimanda tree.

She understands the curiosity for you to strike.

Without hesitation she faces the sacrice.

As she parts this form, forgiveness is bestowed.

Up through the ash scattered ground a new shoot grows.

You've been baptised by the flaming branches of the ozimanda tree.
