Flames Die Out When Watered

Flames Die Out When Watered

A flame can dance both fierce and bright,

Casting warmth throughout the night,

Its glowing heart alive and strong,

Burning steadily all night long.

Yet every flame requires its care,

Protection from the cold night air,

Something precious, something rare,

A light that people often share.

Dreams can burn just like a fire,

Driven by hope and deep desire,

Growing stronger day by day,

Lighting every step along the way.

Love can carry a similar glow,

Helping wounded spirits grow,

Offering comfort through difficult years,

Easing worries and calming fears.

Yet harsh words fall like pouring rain,

Dampening joy and causing pain,

Slowly weakening what once shone bright,

Until darkness replaces light.

Trust is often much the same,

Built carefully like a flame,

Strong when treated with respect,

Fragile when touched by neglect.

Many things require our care,

Attention showing we are there,

Helping precious bonds survive,

Keeping hopeful hearts alive.

Water has its place indeed,

Helping flowers, roots and seed,

Though when poured upon a flame,

Nothing remains quite the same.

The lesson hidden in the fire,

Speaks of every heart’s desire,

To nurture what we hold dear,

And keep its brightness near.

For flames die out when watered down,

Their glowing beauty starts to drown,

So guard the things that help you shine,

And treasure them through all of time.
