Fish Crackers

A free-verse poem about a food product I enjoyed having during my childhood and teen years

Dipping a chip

one at a time

in a bowl of vinegar;

an extraordinary combination.

Snacking and chewing,

mindfully and joyfully

in the brown-painted kitchen;

an uninterrupted moment.

The taste of The Philippines

arrives securely in Canada.

The smell of the islands

is invited to the cities.
