Fireworks Lit The Sky I Won A Million

Let the falling stars bring me my luck

Fireworks Lit The Sky I Won A Million

Fireworks bursting high above the town,

Red and silver raining softly down,

People cheering loudly in the square,

Magic filling every inch of air.

Phone call ringing while I held my drink,

Nearly dropped the thing right by the sink,

Lottery woman screaming down the line,

Telling me the winning ticket’s mine.

I stood frozen staring at the wall,

Could not even speak at first at all,

Neighbours heard me yelling through the street,

Dancing barefoot with no socks on feet.

Fireworks exploded overhead,

Like the stars themselves had turned bright red,

Every spark flew deep into the dark,

Matching all the joy inside my heart.

Bought the kids the things they dreamed about,

Took away the years of fear and doubt,

Finally the heating stayed on long,

Finally life started feeling strong.

Music pumping from the passing cars,

Laughter drifting underneath the stars,

Even strangers smiled and shook my hand,

Like good fortune spread across the land.

Still I keep the ticket locked away,

Looking at it nearly every day,

Proof that life can suddenly surprise,

Like bright fireworks exploding through the skies.

Million pounds could never change my soul,

Only help me breathe and feel more whole,

Money cannot buy true love or peace,

Still it helps the sleepless worries cease.
